Be careful, my nephew fed my fish for me while i was away. I came home and there was 100 freeze dried shrimp laying on the bottom of the tank.

That sounds a lot like my 20 year old brother watching my piranhas.. I was gone Thursday-Sunday and told them to put in the whole talapia fillet on Saturday. Apperntly my instructions were too basic. I get this call on Friday that Port (one of the favorite p's) got bit quite bad on his chin even if it wasn't into the bone. I told him to go ahead and feed them a day early and I would worry about the havoc the rotting food would do later.

Well, they got fed talapia on Friday, I didn't see my brother until Monday and I couldn't figure out why my babys were not eating. Apperntly on Saturday amd Sunday they got about 2 oz of pellets since I didn't tell him how many to add.

When I was 15 (Only a year ago, haha), I was maintaining a 55g and 120g on my own. Just tell him to feed sparingly and your fish should be fine. I'd say a water change definitely isn't necessary, my fish go without a water change for a month sometimes, depending on when I have time to change the water.
