Did ya know that if you unplug the airline from the pump you get a really big puddle on your floor. (somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 gallons)

I was trying to take some pics of my fish and needed to lose the damn bubbles for a min. I figured heck I will just unplug the airline. Well in the rush to get the new 90 set up we forgot to put the check valve in the airline :irked::irked: After spending the last hour sopping up water with every towel in the house I don't think I will ever forget this one..LOL

ha thats funny and sad... more funny. i have had this happen during water changes or something when i need to remove it or something. gets kinda messy, and frustrating

Ouch
Did you still manage to get some pics of your fish? lol

Pics turned out crappy and I spent the night with fans on trying to dry my second floor out...LOL Oh well lesson learned. Stopped at LFS on way home from work and picked up a new gang valve and a check valve. Installed them the second I walked in the door. On a good note the water has cleared up a good bit today from the change over...I can actually see all the fish LOL

hahaha I almost made a similar mistake with a DIY CO2 setup... didn't have a check valve on the line from the bottle to the hose, and without thinking I gave the bottle a squeeze in an attempt to check for air leaks...

guess what: that little squeeze was enough to start a siphon from the tank into the 2L bottle .... it doesn't take long to fill a 2L bottle lol... turned out there were no leaks though :P

Strange, I've unplugged them lots of times with no water leaks. I wonder if it's the type of air pump?

gravity. it works. everytime

:)
