I am overstocked What about you ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2 x 150watts HQI metal halide 10,000k

Planning to add few more plants and few freshwater clamps to the tank next week.

It looks really good i like it a lot. where are you getting the clamps ? i have been looking for them but they are very hard to come by in Canada :(

I was a drag racer until I fell extremely ill last year and the picked up the aquarium hobby seriously and full time (I am actually posting from my hospital bed right now with staples in my neck and a pain med I.V in my arm after major surgery yesterday...lol) so I have learned to roll with the punches and have an extremely thick skin. You wouldn't believe the s**t talking, insults, threats and beyond harsh words that are thrown at you on the automotive forums. When someone gets like that I just laugh and tell them I didn't ask for there views to be pushed on me...lol

Whoa i hope you get better soon.

About the turtle : its too bad your not in Canada i got a baby thats about 5 inches for sale. But i think there are restrictions on shipping them :(
Usually you can find them in Asian LFS in your city :) they dont grow very fast. I have one that i have kept for about 7 years now. when i fisrt got it it was 83 grams and now its about 1.5 kg they are really cool and friendly they are not really dangerous to any fish unless its a fish that like to lay on the bottom of the tank more specially to crayfish, crabs, rays
Not dangerous for plecos, poly and catfish.
They are fully aquatics except when they want to pop theyre eggs ( but that dont happen much in aquariums )

Best of luck with your future upgrade

This thread is awesome, I love being able to talk about my stock and not catching S**T. In one of my first posts that I said I have 2 pacus and an arowana I had someone go as far as posting up almost the full care instructions for pacus and pretty much told me if I didn't get a bigger tank for them I was cruel and a bad person...lol Wasnt exactly a warm welcome to my new found fish forum...hahaha

warned ya bro thats exactly what i was talking about bracing for haha, like i said its your tank and u know the fish are well taken care of :)

All we have is Asian food markets around,no fish stores...lol I am going to check with my LFS today to see if they can get them. If I come across a baby to put in my tank do you think the monsters I have in my tank will pick on it or try to eat it?...lol

Hey wilkinson, I just went to my LFS and asked about the turtles. They are going to look into if they can get them and the different prices and sizes. What would you say is a fair price for a baby, a medium size and a large one? I just want to make sure I'm not getting charged too much. I'm so excited to be hopefully getting one or two!!

The advice about your Pacu was sound advice from someone that actually knows what they are talking about.

In Canada FRT's require a Cites 2 permit that shows that the turtle was bred in captivity, a permit that as far as I know has never been granted in Canada, to anyone. So, not only are there restrictions to ship, there are restrictions on even owning one.

Tell that to ALL of the asian LFS in the toronto area

I would say for any size turtle you should pay between 250 - 500$ thats the price they go for here

also i forgot to mention you should not get 2 or more because they dont do well with other turtles in a somewhat restricted living quarters
and they really add a lot to your bio-load so water change at least twice a week is a MUST

cheers
