I am overstocked What about you ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm overstocked currently. I have a BGK, an L128, a Syno Jaguar/Hybrid, and a Striped Raphael Catfish in a 15g quarantine tank. Thank god they're all small and there's multiple hiding places. They'll be moved to my 125g in the next few days though. After they're all settled in, I'm going to add 6 or so Silver Dollars. I think that's a decent stock for the tank size. :)

Yes "Kid" Really.
I am not here to gain credibility nor m i trying to convince anyone of anything in this thread or in any post.
I am here to exchange wit fellow MONSTER fishkeeper therefore i do not care about your imput since you are NOT a keeper of monster fishes.
You where not even born and i was keeping fishes
I think everybody has theyre own approach to fish keeping. You have the right to your opinion just like anyone else.
Just dont assume i am mistreating my fishes or my dog just because you dont agree with my fish to gallon ratio.
Would i really spend 10k+ on fishes to mistreat them ? the answer is NO
Sorry if i ofended you by calling you "kid" but the reality is that you are one. When you are old enough to vote then i shall call you Sir. How is that ?
Anyway fell free to PM me if you wish to give me more of your insightful knowledge.

Thanks for participating to this thread. Lets now get back on topic

Im pretty effen overstocked, im about to be moving and have bigger tanks waiting so at least i have an excuse haha.

In a 20 gallon i have -
2 peacock eels, about 4 inches
a fire eel about 3 (has his own tank waiting)
2 gouramis
10 tetra, mostly skirts and columbians
2 weather loaches
a bushy nose pleco

the tank is super well planted, sandy bottom. I played some games with the ph for a while, my tap waters ph is around 6, then i added drift wood, so now theres a cave made of base rock (where all 3 spiny eels wedge into and watch when i clean or rearrange the tank) water specs as of yesterday were 6.8 ph, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and about 20 nitrate.

i take out about 5 gallons every 2 weeks or so, with a gallon or two coming out each week in between if the water starts looking driftwood colored

Everything seems really happy, the golden gourami is the most hungry fish ive ever saw and the fire eel has fun shooting between caves and plants. the tetra act like tetra. the pleco has some kind of problem with one of the loaches though, the loach is absolutely terrified of him and he definitely takes advantage of it. doesnt mess with the other loach, or eels, it doesnt like the golden gourami either though
