Tuesday around 1pm I did a water change in my 55, as part of this I unpluged my filters.

I FORGOT TO PULG THEM BACK IN :swear::duh::swear:

I was looking at my fish, and notice the bubbles where going str8 up and not being pushed around my the return line.

Thank God ammonia is 0 and nitrite is 0.

your still good...you just did a water change.

you still might have killed some of your bb. just keep an eye on ammonia levels for the next few days. bacteria will start to die off after a few hours without oxygen

I left my heater unplugged for 4 days in march in my basement after a water change. (COLD) I didn't notice until one of my Raphael cats came out of hiding and he was covered in fungus, I plugged the heater in and added some medicine, and they were all good. I got lucky.

I've done that a few times over the years-usually with heaters though. I don't think I've left a filter off more than overnight though.

Thank you, I will keep checking over the next couple days, I got prime if need be.

Actully I do have a question, do you think I should do my normal water change on Fri. I do two water changes a week Tue and Fri, about 30 - 40% each time. When I do a water change it brings the ammonia to .50 due to the high level of ammonia in my tap water.

If i did kill off some BB this additon of ammonia might be to much stress on the system. I think I should skip this water change.

I wouldn't do the water change, but that's me, I only change every 2 weeks. Sounds like your ammonia level in your tap water is gross.
