MARINELAND 350 filter so pumping water and all of my Native fish fry are dead except for my hybrids!!!! That's $330 worth of fish!!!! SO SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!!!! I just sent Marineland a few comments on their site last week about how loud the Emperor 400, 350 and powerheads are. I told how many people are leaving their products for others because of it.

I let them know I have 3 400's, 350, 3 of the powerheads, and 3 of their canister filters. I told them I threw out the stealth heater I had because of the threat of exploding my tanks. I also said I have only bought the filters for 15 years plus. I can tell the obviously tell the difference by the noise. The older filters were quiet period. I said do the research and find out what customers are saying. I even said, I have started looking at competitors products. I told them I have paid retail price for their products, calculate that and see how much I paid.

Sorry gang, I just had to get it off my chest.
 
Are you talking about the magnum 350 canisters? Yeah those are garbage, my buddy had the bottom blow out on one of his......sorry about your loss :-(

Sorry about your loss RaysOfShine :( Thats though... alot of cash gone away due to a filter.. Anyways, i hope your hyrbrids are okay

Sorry for your loss, that is absolute B.S.,they probably started using inferior quality material to save money or outsourced their product to another country where they pay the employees so little they dont give crap about quality.

Sorry for the typos everyone. The filter is a Marineland Penguin 350 Bio-wheel power filter. The filter stopped pumping water. Intake not clogged, nothing around or under magnet. The hybrids took a bigger hit than I thought. Only 11 left.

I got the filter to work again and it still wouldn't pump water. The water level was is and was high. I have no idea. Piece of crap is working now. I am going to replace all the emperors and this 350 filter, powerheads too. That's it after the 4 canisters mess up, they will go the trash also. Too much money on filters and fish!!!! Now even more has to be spent to replace the terrible filters.

I don't care about saving money by cheaper materials. It cost you in the long run. I am looking at eheims and fluval filstars. I have 9 tanks!!!!!!!!!
 
Never Had a problem with mine. Clean your impellers more often and maybe you won't have this problem.
 
I have had these filters for 2 years or less. I clean my impellers once a week. There are some many people on the internet that say they have loud filters too. Even after Marineland has exchanged impellers, motors and replaced filters.

Never had one Marineland product quit or be loud until this group of filters. People who have these filters are saying keep your old units because the new ones are loud. We all say starts quiet and eventually gets loud and louder.

I threw my older units out because I had them longer than 8 years and they were packed in the garage. I thought to myself, don't risk these filters leaking because of the age and being in a box in the garage. Wish I kept them!!!

Sorry for that massive hit on your stock man.

I have no idea how big your tanks are, But have you considered use sponge filters for you fry?
