1.theres no way to tell if its bad
2.you have a free hand,would holding the tail hurt you?
or make it look smaller?
i bet it will hurt you less to use both hands then all his weight on one lip.

but i can tell your the type that dont want to hear it and will keep doing it to look cool and tuff or something

nice fish,wish you would realize it wont hurt to use 2 hands,nice catches,im done here.

This is the fishing fourm, if you dont like the way he's holding the bass, then get off the thread.
Im sure he's not going to stop holding largemouths like that, just because a few people on the internet dont like it.
I know im going to keep holding them like that, just like most other bass fishermen are going to. Im sure he is to.

Oh im sorry that im a "newb" and i dont spend all my free time on the computer, talking about fish all day long...

Most of the time when i catch a good size largemouth, it becomes my dinner, so soon after im done holding the fish my its precious little lip, it is normally dead, getting ready to be filleted. So i really dont care.

And once again, im sure most people who hold there fish like that, is not going to care if you dont like the way they hold it.

i dont see what the big fuse is, we are here to talk to each other and give advice. here is my thoughts. 100 percent it is not good for large fish to be held like that, if you do not need to hold the fish like that please dont especialy if you are gonna release the fish. they wernt evolved to hold its own weight verticaly out of water just like we were evolved to hold huge weights on our backs while laying down (cracked ribs and what not). on the other hand fish do not have the part of the brain that senses pain, and when hooked it is just natural for them to wanna try to swim away. i have reserched this topic because i fish for stripers and sometimes we catch 30 and 40lb fish that can easily break there neck if you hold verticaly by the jaw.

ether way try to do what is best for the fish if you would like to see other people catch large fish or even yourself catch more large fish by setting good examples.

i much rather talk about tips to catch fish like these.
