Ok, I am going to try the aquarium salt temperature raise technique first, and then if it looks like its getting worse, I will try the half dose of the rid-ich.

What is triple sulfur? I tried to google it, but I couldn't find anything related to fish.

try searching tri-sulphur

NO its fine dude, Your not messing up anything.

But from what I have researched and heard on here, with scaleless you are supposed to use half as much of the treatment unless it says its ok for scaleless fish and invertibrates on the package.

My g/f just bought an oscar from petsmart and it has obvious ich on it, they are on the same system as the pictus catfish so I am sure the pictus could have carried it or my little green severum. I will always quarantine my fish from petsmart, this is a lesson learned the hard way.

Medication is sometimes necessary, obviously, but to be perfectly honest, I've lost more fish over the years to medication than to illness. The last time I had an ick infestation I tried something different - I gradually raised the temperature up near 90 and ran a diatom filter full time. Cleared everything up and I didn't have to worry about poisoning my fish. Just make sure you treat long enough; at this high a temperature, treat for several days after all the spots are gone to be sure. Oh, and add an airstone at high temperature!

yeah i have a airstone running at night its the second dose now(today) and should i add half or full dose, i added full and he was fine but that could of happened just by luck ??? are scaless fish called mormyrids?

i see alot of threads about petsmart and is it realy that bad, i remeber then i was about 8 my dad had tropical and we bought the fish from a big chain shop called focus and the fish would die early and they got sued and shut down for not looking after any of the aminals so why hasnt it happened to petsmart and walmart?

The white spots were on the fins? Were the clumpy, big blotches? Or small, tiny white specs? Its possible that if its only on the fins that its not ich, but something else. I agree with the adding salt and bumpin up the temp. That aways seems to help, and generally in about three to five days (the life cycle of the parasites) it should be cleared up. If, in the case that it IS something else...you could add half the dose of Melafix and PimaFix combined. Together, they are very potent against diseases, fin rot, and other ailments. Plus your tank smells pretty good! :D

Oh thank you peanut power, you are correct I think. This spots are off the severums, but there are 2-3 persistant whitish yellow spots on my nicaraguense's fin and on the dorsal of my salvini, and they aren't leaving, they are just changing color to a more yellowish/brownish white.

And I just saw on my Severum that the tip of a dorsal fin was like bleach white, so I am going to have to go buy some mela/pimafix.
