I can’t believe this article I just read

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The article is from 2010 so I wonder if the shop and Butkiss still exists?

......did a little digging and it appears that the store was shut down back in 2016 due to the building owner selling the property.Sad,it looked like one of those funky old shops that I would have enjoyed checking out.Ive never heard of or seen mention of the shop on MFK before.
I'm not sure of what became of Butkiss.

In a 75 gallon.... I wonder do u think he is happy? Odd hes lived so long in such a small space
...and a diet of feeder goldfish.I wonder what kind of filtration was used and how often water changes were done?

I just hope that anyone who reads that article only takes negatives from it and realises that whichever way you look at it, it is just wrong.

Unfortunately there may be people who, due to space or financial restrictions, but who want to get into the hobby, may look on the article as a positive for themselves as in, "oh, I can't afford a huge tank but this man has proven I can keep big fish in a small tank".

I’m not saying it didn’t happen, I just find it hard to believe that a pacu made it 40 plus year in the same 75 feeding on goldfish.
The first question that comes to mind is how a 75 made it 40 years with a 15lb pacu banging around in it.

I could def see people thinking... "if a pet shop owner was ok with that thing in a 75gallon for 40 plus years than we should do it too"... but who knows maybe it isnt real? How would a 75 stay together with that monster in it? ?‍♂️
