I can't believe it! Petsmart have Festaes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nandopis festae & Amphilophus Festae is the same thing. the genus name sometimes changes (blame the scientific debaters) but the species name DOES NOT. if u bought it from Rapps, be glad as u didn't get a uro. uro-the older they get the uglier they become, festae-the older they get the more brilliant they become :WHOA: :naughty:

Are there different red terrors? I have a Amphilophus Festae from Rapps and his site says thats a true red terror. I knew about the Uros being false red terrors but what are these Nandopis festae?

Here's a pic of my male festae when he was about 2-3". Hope it helps.

i think you are right. but on one or two, i think are festaes. remember I got four, and the picture shows the same fish. I noticed it is missing the "Y" bar, even though they have small spots. But the other ones have the "Y" bars, but they are hard to get pictures of...

nope, i dont think so uros! if they were all in the same tank theyre probably from the same batch of fry ! sucks for you:D

not uros bro...i know my fish. these are not uros :) all of them are like the second picture. very small spot at the base of the tail. Petworld have a bunch of small uros, around 1" and the spot on the base of the tail takes up all the space. these ones, and the ones at Tiki's have the small spots. These are not uros, they are festaes :) I thought the angle on the first photo is misleading, so I wanted to put it that way. They all look like the second phote, small spot at the base of the tail :) Anyway, I know they are festaes.

 Nice uros, enjoy them

yea dude all the "festaes" ive seen at the petsmarts around are uros itd be cool if you somehow got a group of festaes from petsmart but I doubt it

If they are hard to get pictures of then take them outta the tank and take a picture in your hand. I think you might just not want to admit ur wrong..... JP but you really need to get a pic of the other fish.
