I cant figure out how to disconnect my eheim classic...

Larger hose is the input. Smaller is the output.

And unless I'm misunderstanding you, the larger one goes with the alrger tube, and the smaller one goes with the smaller tube :)

I have a couple of Eheim 2250 classics. GREEEAAATTTTTTT filters.
 
well, thanks everybody, i cleaned the filter and installed the shut off valves! It took a while but things should be much easier now :)
 
glad to hear . . . FWIW, Eheim has been including the quick-disconnect taps in the classic kits for the last 5 years (or so) . . .
