Depending on what part of FL you're in, you might be able to catch some pike livebearers (Belonesox). Those are nice "mini-gar".
reallly that got them down here in florida? could u tell me there range or give me a link that would tell me their range?

you should of kept it, gar are alot of fun and can pretty much be released whenever you want as long as its the same place you got it from. just feed it live minnows or guppies and they will learn to hunt and survive just fine. here in michigan we have longnose gar and i would always catch em for the summer and then let em go in the fall, they grow a ton in the first year almost a foot if you have a big enough tank

just choose......:nilly:
release it or keep it in ur tank..

if u choose to keep it,then u must keep it with responsibly....:D
when it grow bigger,u must find people who like to adopt it...:)
