I would like to make my 44 gallon pentagon tank into a showpiece tank. I plan on buying the 55 gallon deluxe plant package from live aquaria. I am going to use flourite as a substrate about 2" worth, but I was looking at the CO2 systems, and the plant supplements and I just got lost big time. What would you reccomend using for the plant supplements preferably the seachem supplements, and what is an easy to maintain/use CO2 system thats not hundreds of dollars. Thank you for your time

Start here I would not get the 55 gallon plant kit as it is far more than will fit in your tank. What type of lighting are you running, and what plants are you getting? You may not even need co2.

O woops lol forgot about the sticky thanks. I'm not sure about the lighting type, wattage, etc. I've had the same lighting for ~2.5 years so I think I'm overdue for new lighting:confused: Are you sure that I shouldn't get the 55 gallon plant kit? I don't know if you're familiar with a 44 pentagon layout but it's ~34" L-R and 26" Front to Back. Thanks for the help

heres the link to the Deluxe package. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=2147
I forgot to add that I'm going to be keeping quite a few fish in there. They are: 6-8 Silver Hatchets, 1 African Butterflyfish, 1 Gold Gourami, 1 Pearl Gourami, 2 Dwarf Gouramis, 8-10 Red Eye Tetras, 1 Blue Ram, 1 Gold Ram, 1 or 2 Angelfish, 12 Cory Cats, 1 Whiptail Catfish, 1 Rainbow or Redtail Shark, 1 Sparkling Gourami, and another school of fish 6-10 Rummynose Tetras, or Boesemani Rainbowfish. So it's going to be pretty crowded and I may not do all of them, but that's what I'm looking at. I have a Penguin 200 right now, but plan on adding either an Eheim 2227 or Rena XP2/XP3 so that should be sufficent filtration.

Very familiar with a 45 pent setup, but it is still more than you will need, and I often find that they are very poor groups of plants.

Instead of the filters listed get an Eheim 2215 or 2217.

Are you sure on those filters? I know nothing about them so I'm a little curious. Could you reccomend a better plant package? Thanks for the help

The classic eheim canisters are much better than the pro 1 line or the rena lines. These are work horses of filters.

Don't buy plants by the package, customize the plants on your own, and pic and choose what you like.

Aww but it's so much more work to pick them out individually;) . Allright thx for the help.
