It would only be in there for at most 3 months with weekly water changes, an Aquaclear 200, and probably a Xp3 to get it started with the Bio-load for the big tank. Allright I will try and keep the live food at a minimum. I tend to keep my tanks 6.6-7.2 because most of them are South American and O thx for reminding me about a sturdy cover I just lost a gourgeous pearl gourami to that. Why shouldn't I keep the Aro with a Red-Tail Payara thats the same size or smaller?
Why will it take you up to 3 months to get this new tank set up? Do you own this tank or are you planning on getting this tank?
The 29 gallon is to small for the arowana alone, sure hope your not going to put more fish in with it.
Have you though about getting say a 75 gallon tank, to keep the aro in? This way you would have more time to get your monster tank and the aro will not suffer being as cramped. Remember that aro is gonna grow about 1" per month so in 3 months now you got a 9" aro in the 29 gallon. With a 75 gallon you could buy yourself 9 months maybe a year.
Originally in your other post you stated the aro was 6-8" I sure hope it's not closer to 8".
Well which ever way you go, good luck with it.

. Allright I guess I'm going to have to rethink some of this
