Anyways, just also wanted to say that "black piranha" is vague specifically because there are many species that fit under that title and they are hard to identify at small sizes. So fish stores sell it as "black piranha" more so you know it's a serra. species.. not because "black piranha" means rhom..
 
yes for the most part

unless its a type found in a specific area you dont really know since the location will effect the looks but the individual fishs genetics itself will have more of an impact so going by little trates and colouring of specific area rhoms isnt accurate since it will vary depending on its dna
 
Sorry but the few top picture look like a Serrasulmas Compressus to me.

The bar and yellowish under the chin.
