I know I hate these "know-it-alls’".... And it is getting old.

I mean no one on this forum except me has named a fish. I mean everyone was nice to me before I named this new hybrid. I guess after I became more important, after my greatness of naming a hybrid and exceeded your accomplishments of rebreeding the same species that are readily available. You turned on me it’s so sad for a great scientist like me who brought you all wonderful gifts in ichthyology to be shunned and ridiculed. Man it is lonely on the top. It really hurts guys…. Right here… I’m ashamed of you!

I can't even say this guys trolling anymore. It seems the FH forum has been popping up with these "know-it-alls".. and it's getting kinda old.

I am sorry...I was just offended because of what you posted on post #42 on page 5..why would you say that...when I never said that these fish have dempsey in them...... fish were from green Texas and Faded female Red Texas(who's parents were Green Texas Dad and King Kong parent mother... these fish were sold to me by a notable Red Texas breeder in thailand. now..back to what this thread is about........and ..it may be hard to try breeding the ebjd into this....unless you have a good specimen male with a female texas.with great thick pearls...I also saw that you would use this to create red texas......the only way would be to see any good steps toward a nice Red Texas...would be to take the best fertile male with the best traits... from the male ebjd and the female texas pairing ...and then breed back to a nice faded female Red Texas ..to get the results....but it is hard to say....this is what I would do.

the last fertile male son that breed back to his faded RT mom had about 200 viable eggs out of 800 or so.....this was his first time that he was successful....so around 25% ...now if I had the time to boost his fertility by varying the diet and increasing the protein in the diets of both of the fish...the rate of fertility will go up....krill is known to increase fertility rates.

What the percentage for fertile male or females out the batch I recieve my fry out of? Like every 5 males or what? If they are faded are kinda faded what is the percentage?
ALso what about live ghost shrimp do they increase fertiliy too?

ok....IME..and other breeders...let say you have a batch of 1000 eggs, 800 will be male and 200 will be female. Most of the females will be fertile, and out of those 800 males......depending on how many survive to maturity and the number you test..you may get 2 fertile males. Finding a fertile male RT is a numbers game....the more fry you have..the more test..the better the chance you will get a fertile...this is why I have been raising batches to maturity and testing what I can. I have been lucky..my male thailand green texas has very good genetics and I am getting good results. All of the males that have been fertile, have been unfaded. I hope this info helps ya out!
