Hey you guys my supplier is getting in baby STs. I want to spread the joy, I need payments in advance. The supplier didn't show me the pics, but trust me I know they're gonna be ST...

hehe interesting, not the traditional ST for sure, perhaps another sp or as u all say indos. either way, can't really say scam as picture are provided and buyer can see for themselves and decide what they are, and if they are spending 225 bux or watever and not research enough to decide what they are, then they probably shouldn't buy it ....

anyway, nice dats nonetheless ,, hope they all end up on good hands in the end :)

Not unheard of, but I haven't seen any reason to believe this is the case (I've been trying to follow this 'situation'). I mean, just throwing that out there without any basis could lead to someone just assuming it's a fact and ...

LOL, so he was scammed. Sad really.
... you just based this off of someone's conjecture above?

Only you mentioned the seller mate.
If you bought one for the price stated only to take it home and in 6 months find out that you'd paid the price quote for an IT what would you call it? An honest mistake and put it down to experience?
IMHO it doesn't matter who is doing the scamming, if they're 3 bar indos being sold as ST it is a scam.
By calling it a scam, I think it implies the seller. I don't believe I was the only one to mention the seller. As far as if I bought one, well, I didn't. I had the opportunity to do so. I was looking at purchasing 6 of these, actually. But, my responsibility as a buyer is to do my homework and never trust anyone 100%. I did my own comparisons and spoke to some respected authorities in the field. They believed them to be D. pulcher. I wasn't as confident, and decided not to purchase. So, if 6 months later I found that they weren't D. pulcher, so be it. That would be my responsibility.

I'm curious if anyone has the actual species description (scientific, not the common knowledge one). I'd like to compare. I don't believe color stability is one of the species characteristics. Again, I'm not saying whether I think it's pulcher or microlepis. I obviously didn't feel comfortable dropping 1300 on them, but I've spent a lot more than that on fish (singles and imports). I just think that people should be fair in their assessments. Calling it a scam is .... irresponsible IMO.

....and you probably never will see a reason to believe that what I said was the case. That's the whole point of saving face and covering ones self.If someone chooses to assume one way or the other then that is their choice.

By calling it a scam, I think it implies the seller.

No i am not. I'm basing it off the countless claims of STs being shipped from Vietnam so far this year. I'm basing it on the massive numbers of baby ITs for sale here in Bangkok Thailand. I'm basing it on being able to go to Chatuchak Market and speaking to vendors there that are selling very good 3 bar indos as ST for more that a regular indo, but less than an ST ever was.
http://www.bangkok.com/shopping-market/popular-markets.htm
I'm basing it on the irregularity of these fish turning up in the States, but not in SEA first, where believe it or not the money is just as good, (better in fact at the moment because of the strong Baht and weak $).

Calling it a scam does not imply the seller at all, it implies something being sold for that which it isn't.
Fraud implies the seller, and i didn't say fraud. Just a scam, somewhere down the chain of supply someone is passing what they know to be 3 bar indo off as ST.

I think it is you who is linking the word scam to the seller in this case.
