you should have paid whatever you were comfortable paying.....more if from a seller that does the work to ensure health etc and gives guarantees, less if from a fishwhore that moves them on as fast as they can to minimize their own risk, sorry I can;t be more specific than that

I agree, ray prices really depend on the source, quality, and how much you are willing to pay for that partiular animal.

Well thanks for all of your input everyone. I am very happy with my purchase and what I paid and I am quite certain the ray would have bit the the dust if I hadn't rescued it from that Pet store. It was in very poor water conditions for a ray and the price was right for the gamble. Thanks agian.
