my brother bought this little guy at petcetra (aka. fish hell). i'm not going to tell you what it was bought as yet because i don't want you guys leaning towards anything. if possible i would like to know the sex of him/her.

the little guy is about three inches long if that helps at all.

the only reason i said possible of a GT was the orange at the top of the fin... other than that is looks like a JD

we bought it as a blue acara, but the woman that was helping us was like "these aren't blue acaras, the're a cichlid of some sort". mabye she was on to something?

It's most certainly a cichlid named after a boxer! One Jack Dempsey, I believe.
