Not an expert on Snakeheads but Africans are in a different family than Channidae, although I thought Africans look more like Bowfins. But the only illegal Snakeheads in the US are Channids, good news I guess

The small sh. in the pics, I belive to be Parachanna Insignis(light brown african sh.) aka the Congo sh. Trust me! I've seen a few show up lately, around here...
