  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Did some googling, gonna go with blue spotted sunfish, Enneacanthus gloriosus. Pics I found were adults but I think that could be it.

I think that one is some kind of sunfish, I swear I've seen a pic of it before...and of course I can't find my Florida field guide to check. If it's the one I'm thinking of it doesn't get big, not as big as a normal pumpkinseed or bluegill - but bigger than the pigmy sunfish. Also agree that the 3rd one looks like a dace. The 2nd one I have no clue, almost looks like a livebearer but really that's a guess.

The pumkinseed is a sunfish, so your intuition is pretty good. And it does look like one, but of the pictures I have found, the paratalapia pollini looks more like this guy.

As for the third one, I haven't researched it yet but another one that looks slightly paler than the one in the pic yawned and has the mouth of a lmb.

BTW, we are going to have an Orlando MFK meet next weekend if you are up for it.

I think this might be it. The eyes of the blue spotted sunfish are right and the anal and pec fins are also correct. The good news is that they are native to Florida which means I should be able to get more of them :headbang2

There is no way you pulled a P. Polleni out of a river in Florida, sorry :). It does kind of look like them, but I've seen the actual Paratilapia Polleni and Bleekeri in person and that is not what you have. Knowing your location and seeing the second set of pictures I'll also rescind my guess of Tropheus Duboisi. It is a blue spotted sunfish 100%.
