I bought 2 argentea's online about a month back, they were only 1.5" then and thought they had to grow a bit to get there colors but I think they sent the wrong fish. My best guesses are Bifa's or simspiliumstuff 030.JPGstuff 031.JPGstuff 030.JPGstuff 031.JPG

Kind of hard to tell for sure with the flash from the camera. If I had to guess ill say vieja of some kind

I can say that they are not argentea they look like the adults even when young but I'd say you have the right idea with the syn or biffa

The one with the black line that runs halfway through the body looks like a syn - has a red head too. Not sure about the other - could be biffa, syn or hybrid. Some veija fry look very similiar when young - bifa, syn, melanurus, coatzacoalcos - but they look nothing like an argentea. Could have been an honest mistake - bags got mixed up - but argentea are easy to distinguish.
