I.D this please

Either way, it's a good looking fish. :) If it starts to develop some stronger yellows, I guess you'll have a confirmation that it's indeed a bujurquina. I've never seen one before, so my judgements were based on the videos/pictures I had seen, as well as based off my experience with the odds morphs with my BA's.

Post a few pics in a couple weeks just for kicks :) I bet its tail will have developed a bit more color to it as well. It looks like it's already got a tint of color to it.

So many different fish that looks similar but none that I see really click. It seems like every fish has attributes that seem to differ from mine, wether it be body shape, coloration, head shape etc. I'm really stumped on this.

To me it looks like coeruleopunctatus, I'm not an aequidens guy...sorry looking at post 11

I was also considering this. Here is one.

It very well could be a Bujurquina sp. All these fish look so similar.

The eyes, black bar underneath the eyes and the black blotch on the body differ from my fish. But I do agree, all of the fish look very similar but all distinct in their own way

The thing is though, those bars come and go depending on the mood of the fish. That's why it's hard, imo, to really nail down the species of a lot of them unless they were wild caught and you know their collections point.

I really feel that the farm raised fish have been polluted with similar looking fish and have created hybrids being sold under one umbrella. As I said earlier, I originally ordered 6 juvie BA.. 2 of them looked the same as they grew out ( and ended up pairing off) the other 4 looked different from each other and body shapes were definitely different from the 2 that paired off.

This species reminds me of carpintis.. so many different collections points but they are all almost the same fish, with maybe a few discerning differences that almost go unnoticed.

No real changes in color. Everything has brightened up but now new distinct bars or spots or anything.

Does anyone know if the bujurquina family is aggressive? I noticed my 10-11" green terror has nipped fins today. The bujurquina is the only new addition to the tank and he seems too small to be a suspect. But you never know.

It is confirmed as bujurquina zamorensis. The LFS confirmed it was a customer donation and imported from Ecuador.
Anyone know about aggresion with these fish?

Very cool! Wish we had LFS's around here that made that effort to confirm.
