My buddy got this Cichlid and we do not know what kind it is, if you can please help I.D. that would be great. Sorry for the poor quality pic, hard to get a pic of this little guy.

Just a shot in the dark but id say probably a mayan or false red terror. Or some kind of a barred midas type. And least likely a festae.
it's my fish, but he got the best pic of it. ill try to get better ones. when he isn't stressed it looks most like a synspilum, but i want some professionals opinion.
If it has two black dots id say amphilophus hogaboomorum

Sorry, but all guesses are ridiculous. Not that your guess is ridiculous, but trying to identify a picture that is turned side ways and blurry is absolutely absurd. We need a better picture and one that is not turned to the side.
Need better pics, in the meantime though, here's the pic above flipped right side up and cropped.
Since it was turned sideways just turn your head...... Hmmmmm.. And thank you Lusus for cropping it.
Well he came out a little more today, still having trouble with a pic, i have a high res camera but it does not like pics through glass. So please take a look even though it is a little blurry
And i do not know why it goes sideways, its straight all the time until i load it on here, i am sorry for that
