I Did it Again! Sold as Ocell

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
She is killing me with how slow she grows (which I've been told is a trait of orinos), she's only about 6.5 inches now. A lot of pbass will grow about an inch a month, and her growth rate has been closer to half an inch a month, even with good water parameters and weekly water changes. Definitely need to get some buds in there to help with her appetite.

Holy crap. That's it? I'm never gonna grow out an orino lol. I've had my pins since Feb of this year at 4" and they're now 10".

yeah orinos have the slowest growth rate

FURIOUS!!! What a Babe In Total Control of Herself. Princess Bloop has unmatched Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent!

Snapped this pic of her while she beating the crap out of the weirdo pbass from an LFS that I got to keep her company. They are a bit too small, sadly, so they are recuperating in the OTHER growout tank with my little ocell brats. One of them has neat markings, so I will make a new thread about him, but in the meantime, check out this lady's crazy red eyes! She is ready to rumble!!!

Great grow out pictures. I need to upgrade tanks, so I can get into the peacock club.

Well, it's been seven months now, and (Princess) Bloop is at 7 inches. I've added some cover plants and driftwood for her to lurk under, and she really seems to enjoy it. It really amazes me how much a Cichla's MOOD will affect their color. So this month, you get two pictures per side on this lil' lady, one her more calm, normal colors, and the other when she's excited (and caught me holding the camera up, or possibly wanting some Massivore).

Also, the next ex-Doctor Heatherbeast got me some fishing gear, and we are making plans to eventually go to Miami for some exotics fishing. I have a new appreciation for all the thought that goes into bait design! Turns out that peacock bass are aggressive enough that they will just BITE anything that looks like them. Even if it's TROUT-shaped.
