they can get bigger then that, seen them past three feet.. and all those are not amazonion fish...... the cichlids they show are ca/sa... peacock bass south american......

When zoos say "Amazonion", they usually mean Amazon rainforest and related Amazon basin drainage. It opens them up to display all fish from the region instead of just the fish found in the main river.
