I'm with the OP.. Clear water sucks. I wish mine wasn't so clear, but my sumps won't let it happen.

I don't need my diatom or UV to make my water 99% clear I have plenty of filtration and experience to do that without them and I do. But I run them as icing on the cake. And they help remove any possible free floating parasites (Unlikely but eh ya never know) and truly take it to the next level.

My water is clear for about a day after a water change. Doesn't bother me one bit when it becomes "un-crispy".

i think crispy! water looks very nice but if it bothers you too much then this hobby can become more stressful than relaxing i wud imagine....
