I blend that all together in a food processor and freeze it in flat sheets, then break off chunks for feeding.

Its beefheart, Omega one pellets, peas, raw shrimp, cod, Vita Chem, and garlic guard :)

You have no issues with water quality? Or does your fish eat the chunks frozen?

They eat the chunks frozen, but they soften as soon as they hit the water. They gulp the chunks down too fast for them to fall apart and mess up the water.
There is some mess, mostly from blowing out their gills though. But nothing that would clog the filters or cloud the water and my Syno cat cleans up anything else.

I think that is wonderful that you can take the time to do this.. and much more quality then you would buy frozen.. do all your fish eat the same food? That would be my problem since everyone is somewhat eating differently..

All my main, large fish eat that yeah.

I have a 20 gallon with smaller community fish. So i have a vegetable variety of what i made in this post. It has a lot of spinach and peas and spirulina, but still has beefheart and white fish. I just throw a chunk of it in and they all pick it apart.

Good for you !! Now that is a fish keeper.. i have to try it over the winter.. do you make enough at one time to freeze for months? I have apples and carrots cut up every night for the horses, parrots get pieces of veggies that i put aside.. now the pacus are getting string beans and corn and bananas and carrots.. {maybe i can food process the pacus veggies all at once.. we do have a separate freezer for the fish food.. i will give it a try..thanks

Sure thing.
I usually get enough to last a few months, yep.
Sounds like you have a zoo.

You could even try giving your Pacus some nuts.

They eat nuts in the wild. thats why they have those wierd teeth. They can bite through the shells.

Not too many nuts though. They are meant for storing up fat since the amazon goes through a 6 month drought. So a captive fish doesnt need the fat content of nuts. But one every once in a while would be cool to watch.
(if they do it)
