I separated my retics from my motoro and they havnt been eating very good. i dont know hy and my water is perfect? what can i do to get them bcak to normal?

Whats your temp and water conditions, PH etc? Could add some aquarium salt and get temp to 84-86. I always add salt when I have problems, Recently my pearl rays stopped eating for a long time and I added some salt to my system and they started eating great within 24hrs. 3 lbs per 100 gallons you can use kosher salt add half the amount and 24 hrs later add rest.

i have added a little bitt of salt about 2 or 3 days ago but not nearly the amount you said. The female isnt very active at all when im around. I have no clue what is wrong with them, they have been with me for over a year and this is the first time they havnt eaten most of their food.

i had exactly the same thing.. my female stopped eating and died.. my male started eating after a few weeks in Q with high temp and salt... goodluck

Did you remove the motoro from the tank?

mmm Whenever my retics don't take all their food I just quit feeding them for 3-4 days.. I also hold off feeding for a few days every time I transfer them or something like that.. (for bioload reasons too, etc)

It seems like they aren't heavy eaters like Motoros.. I've really slowed down feeding on my larger 3. I just make sure their disc and tail are thick..

Ya she seems stressed and the tank is divided so that the motoro cannot get to her. Im going to do a big w/c today and add somemore salt. shes been in the same place for a while now, wich suck :(. The good thing is that she is nice and fat so hopefully shell full through this.

could it be that i dont have enough oxygen going into the divided part of the tank. i have a filter there but it doesnt really make any bubbled or anything. so im thinking that might be a problem. So after i do my w/c im going to go to the lfs i work at and get some air stones and tubbing and sett up like 3 air hoses for oxygen.

add a large air stone and let it rip....the higher your temp the less D/O you have in the water
