I dont think these are common hitch hikers as most live rock comes from the South Pacific and these are found in temperate waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic. In my tank I have various shrooms, some LPS, zooas, green star polyps and a bubble tip anemone, so far so good and this anemone hasnt moved from where I put him.

I'm very new to saltwater, like mere weeks. I had a few anemones pop up in my first week and was told to remove them. I did so promptly. They were clear at the time. Man I hope I didn't kill anything that could have turned into this.

Like Kevin said, you were probably best off killing it due to the likihood of it possibly eating some of your fish if it did grow into that kind of nem. Personally, I'd rather err on the side of caution, you know?
