I Dont Understand (Cloudy Water)

City of Astoria Water Quality Report
I doubt they are adding something new (having worked at a drinking water facility myself)
but seasonal changes can effect the mineral, or other components of the natural water.
If lead pipes are predominant in your area, phosphates are sometimes added to keep lead from leaching into drinking water (phosphate coats the inside of pipes providing a barrier to lead leaching out)
If the fish you added, are larger than you normally kept, their extra bio load may have instigated a bacterial bloom, and it would be temporary.
Your filters would not have an effect, because e bacteria is too small to be filtered out, and you just need to let the tank come to equilibrium, could take a month.
What is the volume of your water you remove with each water change?
Lol i live in Astoria NY but thanks anyways i gravel vac 3x a week 50%

Duanes is correct, they add phosphate to the water in NYC to fight corrosion. 2017 test results here: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/pdf/wsstate17.pdf
You can also contact them and ask, maybe they will have an answer for you.
Not positive this is what is causing the cloudiness, but could be it. I would try the phosphate pads in filter and see if you notice a difference. If it's going to work, It won't take long, so you will know in a couple days.

Another point of interest i forgot to mention i dont know if it makes a difference last week i got sick and didnt do a WC for 4 days by the 4th day my water was clearing back up.

That would lead me to believe maybe it is something in the tap. Maybe chill out with the water changes a bit and see if it goes away? Also, do you know if you get microbubbles out of your tap? If you run the tap into a bucket instead of the tank, is it clear or cloudy?

The water coming out of the tap is clear when i refill my tank my filters are off and the water is clear when i turn them back on that's when the water gets cloudy

I still dont understand how with 2 FX6 even if the flow was not 100% how it could make my water cloudy. But i will try it tomorrow when i do a WC and will update you guys

I dont really get it either but i was just telling you what i experienced. I think maybe the bb colonies in the can werent getting enough oxygen or nutrients so some of the bb died off and i subsequently had mini-cycles while the media repopulated/stabilized. Just a theory. All i know is i cleared out the intake and tank was crystal a day later.

Are you turning the filters off when you feed..?? The filter could be sucking up too much food and making the water cloudy.. sounds like you have the tank over filtered a bit which is good.. try decreasing the amount of water you are changing during a water change but not the frequency of water changes .. you may be taking out too much water at a time.. also you need to check to make sure the PH is the same in the tank as the tap water you are putting in or you could be shocking the BB with the water changing and it's dying...

I too think it could by a mini-cycle issue going on. It sounds like you might be a meticulous cleaner. I have done some significant cleanings and wc that have resulted in cloudy water very soon after the cleaning. I think you could be removing too much bb each time you clean. The fact that it started to clear on day four once would also indicate this. I would suggest only change water for a while without vacuuming gravel or cleaning anything too see if it will clear.
