I got tattoos because it's a piece of art. no meaning really behind mine other than I'm a canvas. My very first tattoo was the one I put the most thought into and it's the one I regret the most. Having to explain a tattoo to everyone who looks at it is pure torture. when somebody asks about my sleeve tattoo it's easy... it's art and it's beautiful and everyone can understand that. I like the catfish idea, it looks pretty sweet.

Hey,I just wanted to kinda add some ideals- I use to draw for a shop when I was younger, I have Tatts that I have drawn-I was thinking if you could sit down with someone you trust and who can draw, see if you can have something custom done, some artists are good at this too, but the question you have with the art is because you relate to it but then again must not. Your tattoo that will symbol so much should be something when you see it you know it with out a second thought. Check out other for ideals and picture for ideals but I think for you to combine your family with something you enjoy( suchas the aquatic hooby) you might really want this to be yours and yours only....

know what I mean.
As far as the two above, if I would pick one it who be the kio-symbol of life=family is your life. but that, depending on place and size, could be a large Tatt if you really dont want something big...go with the first-sharpen the lines and it would be more of a trible peice...

goodluck

thank you for your imput also. i dont care for the koi idea bc so many people have koi. also i want something simple with deep black lines, no shading or colors. i like the two abone for that reason and also they are something i could have without having to explain them. i like the catfich because i have always enjoyed catfishing. i like the other because its a badass looking fish and its just a "fish" no fish in particular. i have been looking for a new tat for a few years not and will continue until i find one i like. i am a little picky when it comes to permanent alterations to my body.
