You haven't owned high fin synos or angelicus, have you? In a small enough tank, some of the syno variants can be really territorial and will damage fish.
No, I haven't, but from looking at their mouth shape, I just can't imagine how they could damage another fish, but I'll take your word for it ( although I'd still expect a large pacu to be able to handle it).

They can bite, lol. But you're right. They would more than likely not bother a large fish in a large tank. But they would want to chase off smaller fish, especially at feeding time. That was the reference. :)

i guess you'd just need to trust me when i say its the cat fish. i've watched him 'going' for the pacu. he's been in the 225 tank twice and i should have learned my mistake the first time. i dont think the catfish would kill a pacu but he was certainly stressing him out. the stress made the pacu turn on each other. plus i recon they'd really hurt themself banging of the glass. also with regards the jags, i again know ots the catfish because again i've witnessed it.

on a lighter note the arowana seems to be healing nicely and is looking pretty happy. gonna level with you i kinda thought he was gonna be pacu chowder

My pacu are curious of everything I put in the tank with them. Their first thought is ---Is that food?--lols... I've lost a peacock eel to the pacu's curiosity and my catfish have teeth marks on fins and such. however my tire track eel is fine:screwy:. I have a syno as well. I have him in a 55gallon with a jag and a jack dempsy. He bullys everyone in the tank including the pleco.

Good luck,
Chris

the syno doesnt seem to bother the jags which is strange, just took the absolute hump with the arowana. he doesnt bother the bristle nose either. the syno killered my ornate bichir and a couple of panga. think i've got the tank populous sorted.

Yer catfish is an effin' baller.
Soooo glad I never liked them enough to buy one for my community tank.

EVERYONE ELSE,
Get over yourselves, and your drama.
He came here for advice, not petty fights regarding rediculously misread information.

He said anyone that throws away their oldest fish for a brand new one, is a douche. Not "your all douches!!1!"

And to the idiot that chopped up his quote about his pacu's feelings towards his aro to turn it against him, you make people sick.

Gotta love when newbies come on calling people idiots. What the hell do you know, did ya research any of his other threads and his disregard for good sound advice?

BTW nothing was chopped, you do understand what the purpose of a "period" is regarding English grammar, don't you?

Glad you said this and not me, 35 posts and he's critiquing replies?!:screwy: Come on, even I know when to just lurk!
