Wow your under the impression that a silver arowana can live out a full and healthy life in a 60 gallon tank, research much?

WOW! Take a deep breath then count to 100, then take another deep breath. Two things:

1. I never indicated that it can and will live a full and healthy life in a 60g. I was simply inferring that it would be in a better place if housed in a 60g as opposed to a 10g where it can barely move. Surely, the chances of living a longer life would be higher in the 60g.

2. Scroll up ^^^ I said I was messing with the OP.

SO with that, just cross your fingers that somebody with the capability to properly care for an Arowana will come along and buy it soon.

And your under the assumption that the OP is the only one that can be messed with in this thread?

well, they had an 8 inch silver a few months back and it was snatched up pretty quick. im hoping this one will be to. the person that bought the 8 inch apperently had a 500 gallon with a jardini and a super red, he told me he was putting it in a 125 growout until it was big enough to hang with the others. I am possibly building an indoor pond but idk yet, and if i did it would be in a while so no chance the aro would be happy in a 60 gallon slim.

I know this sounds dark....but if it dies..the pet store most likely won't aquire another to stick in that tank for sales. If they find out they can sell arowana out of a 10gal without money loss, they'll continue doing it.

Buying it simply gives them profit for bad fishkeeping. (though don't get me wrong...I feel horrible for any creature treated that way--there's just not any good answer to the situation.)

well what really confuses me is that they have a 75 gallon with a bunch of feeder goldfish in it! theres like 300 though. whenever they get a gar they keep it in with the feeders.

Id rather see a juvy aro in 10 gallon with clean water then the same in a 180 with ammonia/nitrites anyday. Not saying its right but baby fish are small enough to grow out for a little!

60 gallon is better than 20,30,40, and the chances of someone with those tank sizes buying one of those Aros are pretty high. Yes it isn't the right size for the fish, but how many of us has done that and upgraded to a larger tank just for that one fish that we raised ? I know I did.
