I feel like a fish outta water lol

Thanks for the input! I did have a question about filters: If a filter says it can pump a certain gph I know that you probably don't want to go over that but how far under that number in gallons can the tank be? ex: If you have a 50 gallon tank how many gph can the filter be?

I would say that the water feature is too small, but the fluval filter should work while the snake is small, as it gets larger it might not be able to keep up with the bioload. Get a hold of the member z-trip, he has a green and a yellow annie

Thanks for the referral.

Right now I am just about done building my green anacondas cage. It's 10 feet long, 30" wide and 24" tall. And that is not including his 60"x30" water bowl(bath tub). I shall post pics once I am done.

I strongly recommend to anyone owning anacondas, to make sure they have a water bowl large enough for the snake to completely submerge in. But to me, that goes for all snakes.

Oh, and as for a filter.... I think its a waste of money. Since these snakes defecate in there water almost daily, my plan is just to use my shop vac and suck out the water/debris when needed, then fill it up with the hose. Also, I shall be heating my bath tub with an aquarium heater that will be in a 4" pvc pipe with holes drilled in it. (got that idea from another member on here)

No prob dude :)

I agree with bypassing the filter if you can keep up with the water changes.

Removing waste from the system is the answer in this situation. So any filter that simply sucks up waste will need to be cleaned very very frequently (usually daily).

Thus water changing after each 'soiling' is the best answer.

Though I have often used a powerhead with sponge filter to create water movement and an easy to clean filter. Any filter move complicated than this to clean won't get cleaned as often as needed.

Thats a good suggestion, I had never really thought about using a shop vac! I guess thats also even more motivation to get the snake out more often thus getting it more accustomed to being handled. However, I do agree that something to promote water movement would be nice just simply because stagnant water still gets gross even if cleaned everyday. I really appreciate the feedback guys! Keep it coming, if you got it Ill listen :)
