What is your justification for harvesting then? There are already a lot of bloodlines going around.
CITES can be a great thing, but it has many flaws that need to be fixed. I can't even begin what is wrong with it. A lot of endangered species are not on, and a lot of common species are listed as endangered.
Oh, look up Vermont, South Dakota, Quebec, Ontario, Virginia, New York, Maryland, North Carolina and there is probably a few others I am forgetting that have them as listed with special status.
Just because they are not listed, it does not means they are not in danger. It just means either they don't recognize it, or they just don't care.
