try and forget about the good and the bad you will only miss or regret it- like niel said make a new tradition- do you not know of any uncles or aunts? mine love me (or so i hope)
what about your godfather/mother? theres always someone you can turn to- how about a g/f? that always helps for a while

life is too short to sit around and ponder!,you need to improvise,adapt & overcome... yes I feel your pain threw your word's but you need good friend's or a loving man in your life during times like this. I was treated badly by my step monster(mom) her two boy's(ricky&mike) were aS@#$%e's and me and my brother (jason) would fight with them and her on a daily baseis ,and I mean physicaly with my stepbrother's, the U.F.C started in my kitchen.. my father soon realised what was going on and made big changes (threw them out with the stuff they came with)... your parent's have issues that need to be addressed and you should have an intervention if a relationship is what strive for with your parent's if they are'nt willing to meet you half way then you need to tell them too go f@#k themself's .. counseling help's . it helped me deal with my inner aggression from all the tormenting I recived from my stepmonster but I got myself arrested 6 to 7 times for fighting before I realised I had a problem with anger... with evey sunrise is a new day and new hope.... take care of yourself your puppy need's you......

Well you are very lucky. My family will, and does screw me over on a regular basis. My friends haven't.
