I have ranted on here about my fish getting the Bloat over and over and not getting any better but after a few years of on again and off again infections of what I thought was the BLOAT it turned out to be something else that has alot of the same physical appearences of it. Well it appeares to be HEXAMITA!!!, I thought it was bloat because my cichlids bloated up with stringy feces and no appetite at all so I got on-line a few months ago after my latest outbreak and found out that it might not be the BLOAT but HEXAMITA so I did a big water change and put some medication in my tank to treat HEXAMITA and then fed them some non medicated anti-parisitic food and guess what ....they have been disease free for 2 months or so, so if you think you have bloat and can't get rid of it try treating it for HEXAMITA, you just may save your fish!
