I came home from work today to find a baby motoro ray! I was pretty sure the female was pregnant and she had her first pup, a liter of 1. The little guy seems healthy, swimming around freely. I had to drive 100 miles to the LFS to buy some black worms which I fed to the ray. The ray didn't seem too interested yet as he's still too young. I am too tired right now to set up another tank (50g) for the ray so he'll have to wait until Friday before the tank is ready. I didn't get back from the city until 10:30 pm and I have to get up at 6:30 to go to work.

Would it be okay to leave him in the big tank with the parents and a few other tankmates (see list below for 320g) for a couple of days? I guess he doesn't have much choice until his new home is ready. I hope the other fish leave him alone (especially the 10" pbass).

I'll try to borrow the school camera tomorrow and take some pictures of my first baby ray!:grinno:

only one way to find out if he will be OK....

Congrats! 100miles? Now thats some dedication!!!! :headbang2

If you need to keep it in the main tank I would actually place it in a smaller self contained container within the tank to protect it from being nibbled on by the other tankmates.

Congrats on the pup! That container should work great! GL

Congrats! Please put more effort into assuring his survival, no time is an upsetting excuse. A divider, a container, you can even float a milk crate in the tank for him/her.

Opinions are like ***holes, everyones got one. And the ray is doing just fine, thank you very much.
