I'm not expert on snappers, but giving it deeper water may help. It doesn't look it can submerge based on the pics.

Thanks goes and hunter can I keep him with red ear slide turtles? He won't be able to get them I would think cause the pond is pretty big i would think?

Important question: can I leave him in my car for 3-4hours? Am going to put icecubes in there any leave the windows down. It's going to be 72F top tomrrow

72 what the hell are the ice cubes for ?
your not putting them in the water with the turtle are you
and if our new snapping turtle just happened to find its way in your pond then the redear sliders will find there why out and in a hurry the snapper will more then likely stay put.

1,000 gal tank halfway is plenty of water for it. What kind of filtration do you have for the tank? turtles in general are probably the dirtiest things you can possibly keep in a tank... they poop a lot and stink up the water very quickly. I'd say you're golden for a few years but once it gets past 1' long the waste may overload whatever filtration you have for the tank.

Oh if you definitely need to keep it in a car for that long, I'd suggest get it a big plastic water container, ~40-50 gallons and fill it up 3/4 with cool water, make a platform and close it it partially. the water will not get too hot even in full sun.

hope to see some more pictures soon
