Scary thing is, i took my brother to look at the same tank at petco and one fish was developing ick. I don't think he came into contact with the water. They had red peacocks that were $9 but were "assorted"

No need to ask around, they are the standard OB peacock. Now as for getting them it is pretty easy. Only trouble at auctions is that most purist clubs, which most are and should be. Will not sell them. So you are left to the stores of breeders. I went to auction the other day and they had a few bags. Infact was the almost only peacocks there.

So they are pretty common. The males get the good color like yours females are dull

yer i would say it was just an OB peacock that had some nice parents nothing really out the ordinary. nice fish btw i would get some female and start breeeding

Its amazing what hormone feeding will do to color up a juvenile fish.


side note, $9.00!!! those retail for $5 in CT.

It's better to get fish at the private pet store because petco I got my oscar and it had fungus.
