I got this Arowana from the same fish store as my first arowana 3 months ago.. Mine is currenlty 8" and very healthy.. but not the one i got today....
I didnt plan on getting him at all.. i went to my lfs to pick up a 300 watt heater for $18 bucks...
AND THEN.. i saw the dying arowana..
I thought that he was dead since he sank to the bottom of the tank... but notice that his gills was moving... I used my Mandarin skills (chinese) to talk to the store owner.... After 3 minutes of struggling with my bad mandarin... i was able to get the Arowana for free....
Inititally I offered the store owner $20 bucks for the heater and the fish.... he didnt understand.. but finally he allowed me to take it....
(The pictures are attached below....)
He's BADLY injured..
and very weak.. i dont think he's eaten for a long time.... In fact.. most of the arowana in that fish store is very poorly feed, but this one is in the exterme... His fins are chewed up,
and his upper back is clearly chewed on tho the point where it is showing skin... He has no fungus or bacteria on him... (not that i know of) but he is clearly VERY WEAK.....
So.. guys i need your help.. I dont want him to die.. what do i do?
I was lucky enough to have a 30 gallon tank open for him.. with very clean water... it was going to be a betta breeding tank... Currently tempearture is 80, but i want to around 86... I've added anti bacteria medicine and gill/fins rot medicine... Just to be on the safe side...
ALSO... is it possible to FORCE FEED HIM???
I dont want to.. but his stomach is flat.. i put some bine shrimp earlier but he didnt touch them.. now there is blood worms.. but since moving him to the 30 gallon.. he swim a bit.. and then sank back down....
WHAT TO DO???
