what about a local aquarium did you try calling one?

I'm trying to FIND a local aquarium. The casinos here have some displays, namely shark reef at the Mandalay bay, but it turns out every casino I've called only has saltwater displays. I sent an email to my local zoo, but it's a tiny zoo. 3 acres only, and I don't know if they have an aquatic display. I did ask them to refer any other aquariums if they know of any, but I don't think I'm going to hold my breath.

In any event, after filling the tank with new water, two subsequent 50% water changes, cleaning the filters and a gravel vac, the water is almost clear and I can actually see the fish. I haven't tested the water params, as I don't doubt they're bad, but I'll bet it's a lot better than it was before! Anyway, it looks like I was spot on with the initial count. Massive amount of fish. The poor pacus can barely turn around in there. Ugh.

How do I tell if the pacus are red bellies or not? The pics I can find of big ones all look alike to me. One definatley does have a hint of red to its belly, the biggest one does not.

These are the best pics I can do right now, off my camera phone.

There would probally be more than 100 lbs of water to ship those guys. $$$$$

But no cost to buy the fish so you might get them cheaper on this, then when buying them from a shop nearby.
