it was used and the hood seems to be about 8 to 10 inches above the water level and the glass is tinted the hood is wood what is up with the tinted glass

thats the bottom stand put this on a dresser in my computer room but the stand heater aqua tech 30-60 added my cascade 300 from my other tank which also had the penguin 330 in it came with a cave and a tree root decoration good pickup for thirty dollars BUT WHAT SHOULD I DO LEAVE THE TINTED GLASS COVERS ON OR TAKE THEM OUT
