The tinted glass is a matter of opinion. I would perosnally leave them on, but thats just me. I tend to like the lights a little dimmer. Then again, bright light shows off "shiny" fish better. Nice tank BTW, looks to be a 75?

Edit: you posted that it was a 55 as i posted :P
