Sweet fish needs some buddies, its harder to add more as the get used to solitary tank...

The only buddies I will even think about putting with him is maybe some swordtails or platies. He is a solitary boy for sure! I was thinking about adding some platies or swordtails to give him some food though. I have some nice water sprite at the top they can hang in too.

am i missing something here, thats not a piranha, specially not a brandti. brandti dont have red to their fins, there is a type of piranha that does, and i dont feel like looking up the long hard to spell name, but they are very rare and have a pricetag of $500. Anyways sorry to react this way, didnt know if this forum was a joke, or if the pictures are just really deceiving. but after having many piranha and looking at all types of them on piranha-fury every day, i would put money on it that that is not a brandti, it most of all looks like a silver dollar

Not an S. Brandtii!! Oh and Brandtii are not a $500 fish by anymeans either! I have had a 6" brandtii for sale for months at just $50 and no one has bought it!!

Anyway that is a pristcibon (I butchered that spelling) denticulata Im sure of it! Tropical Fish Dist. brought in a bunch of these and labeled them as brandtii for some reason! Oh and this particular fish CAN be kept oin groups!

ummm hope you got what you wanted! nice fish either way....

as far as the $500 fish goes, i was not referring to a brandti costing that. i was referring to (Pristobrycon Maculipinnis), thats why i stated that it has red fins, unlike a brandti.

i wasnt saying it was a pristo Macu, but yes it looks like a denti

Ummm... that is a little dissapointing. But thank you guys for the positive ID! So anbody have anything on these dentic? Are they good fish? Will they hold my interest in piranha? Should I be angry lol? Hmmm....
