i got an American Eel from an asian market

I should have read the whole thread before my last post. A lot of times eels from the market or baitshops will die. They are kept in really crapy conditions. No filtration, little circulation and very overstocked. I always see dead ones in the bucket and ones with severe ammonia burn.

In a local nature park around my neighborhood, they use to have a 40ish gallon tank with two American Eels lazily swimming throughout the rocks and pipes. I was too young to really get interested in them since I was 8 and that was about 10 years ago. Those eels are long since dead by now, and the administration has changed a lot since I last was there.

i do not know how to multi-quote. the eel had never ate at all. I am more than positive it was an American eel. Sorry @ the guy that lost his eel too. yea I live 5 minutes from the Hudson. I do not have a permit though and im not sure if its 100% fresh down by me (im in lower Westchester). I have native minnows now. blacknose dace and I believe a stone roller.
