I got eggs !!

I have been talking about getting a new camera for a Christmas present to myself for quite some time . I love watching the little guys . They have big black eye's and little tiny bodies . My daughter loves watching them as well .

The wonders of nature certainly are mesmerizing!
Our daughter does too, she says they're her fish :-) She especially enjoyed watching the spawn development. Not that you need more convincing for your present to yourself.... Take a look at pics of our first spawn using a 70mm macro lens. I can't take credit for the pics, my husband has the photo skills here.

They are slowly getting bigger . I will try to take a few pictures tonight. There are only 7 left. But a healthy 7 ! Pretty good for a first spawn I would think . Especially being as unexperienced as I am .
 
Fantastic, good for you! :) I'd love to hear about their growth and what they're eating. Looking forward to your updates. Raising fry is a lot of hard work. Kudos!

So far I am feeding them freshly hatched brine shrimp. I made a shrimp hatchery out of a block of Styrofoam and a 2 litre juice container and stook it in my 180 with an airstone. They seem to be growing quite fast the last week.
 
Small update. Two have survived and they are about .5 " . I went to feed my mating pair today and noticed they have another clutch of eggs !!!! They are machines ! I will update later on with photo's .
