I got a Heros Appendiculatus today. I have left my camera lead at work so cannot post pics until then. It has a blue/turquoise face, a little splash of red on its neck, bright orange and yellow fins, 4 dorsal bands and its body seems to be a light yellow but changes to a blue/grey colour depending on its mood. It is a little tatty from aggression in the LFS tank but really pretty and docile, about 4.5 inches and I think it is a male. It cost me £42!!! But, it has taken me ages to find one of these so it was worth it. Will post pics on Monday.

woohoo!! I do hope so. Apparently he was "wild caught" and came from Peru but doesnt that mean his parents are wild caught?
He was being proper bullied by everything in the LFS tank, including two of his fellow severum tank mates. I chose him because I wanted a chilled out one that wasnt a bully and so far he has not had a go at anything, even at feeding time. It must have been such a relief for him when I put him in my nice quiet tank.
aww, i thought it was a male because of the long fins. Thinking about it, the one that was bullying everything was more blue in the body and the others were more like the colour of this one. Maybe he was a male and a bit dominant with the girlies.
