the plant of the left is a 'striped sandy' (thats what my LFS used to call them but I can't remember the true name) and yes, they are not aquatic plants. it will have to be removed.

My bad, I thought your dimensions were the same as mine.
I think I need the background I have now.
Thats funny if thats not an aquatic plant when I bought it at Petsmart and the said I can put in my fish tank. Even if it ain't my fish are really happy, and keep on swimming.
Also, I seem to have not giving better dimensions.

there are a few plants sold at LFS's as aquatic plants like the one you have, the aluminium plant, the temple plant and brazilian swords that will do okay in water for a few months, but eventually die. they will however, do fine with their roots only in water/substrate and their stmes/leaves in the air.
